Jason Landry (b. 1972) is a photographer,
collector and Owner of the Panopticon
Gallery
in Boston, Massachusetts. Through his interest in social
portraiture, he has created various bodies of work including a series
on 'collectors' and on the topic of 'the gaze'. His work has been
exhibited locally and nationally and is featured in many private
collections.
In 2010, he will be in a two-person exhibition titled, Paris/Prague:
Tales from Two Cities at the Panopticon Gallery and will have
a solo exhibition of his series The
Collectors at The Griffin Museum of Photography.
Jason Landry was born in Massachusetts and grew up in Greenland,
NH. He received a BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College
of Art & Design and a MFA in Visual Arts from The Art
Institute of Boston.
In 2008, Landry joined the Board of Directors at The Photographic
Resource Center at Boston University. Soon thereafter, he transitioned
into their interim Education Manager, then Project
Manager before
accepting a permanent position as Programs and
Operations Manager for the organization.
In 2010,
Landry purchased the Panopticon Gallery from Tony Decaneas. Landry
is also a contributor to the online art journal Big
RED & Shiny.
